Tour of Volcano Madera : 8 hours - Leaving at 6AM - $15 U.S.D ($20 U.S.D. for more than 3 people) + $1 U.S.D. per person for the use of the trail. Medium difficulty. Climbing Volcano Maderas is a beautiful and exciting adventure. In the first half hour, you walk through open fields with a beautiful view of the island and of Volcano Concepción, after which the road continues through the middle of the tropical jungle and ends with the cloud forest close to the laguna, where you can swim and rest for a bit. With this tour, the farm El Zopilote helps the community of Ometepe, as 90 percent of the money goes to the local guides and the trail fee goes to families who own the land through which the trails run. It is prohibited to go without a guide: In 2004, two tourists died on the volcano. It looks small, but it is very big and very easy to get lost on the trail. WHAT TO BRING: Take 2 litres of water, food, a light jacket for the cold and good shoes. |

Horse riding: Ride along beautiful beaches and arround majestic Volcano Maderas by way of horse back and see the island from a more local point of view.
